Either due to decay, trauma or part of your orthodontic treatment, this is one of the most common procedures performed. Patients are referred to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for single or multiple teeth that need extracting while utilizing appropriate anesthetic care.
Wisdom teeth sometimes erupt partially leading to pain and swelling of the surrounding tissue. Sometimes they are impacted, meaning that the teeth are unable to emerge. We typically remove wisdom teeth prior to complete development of the roots.
Due to complexities arising out of the head and neck area, a number of pathologic processes can occur. These diseases range from small to large lesions and can involve multiple structures in the facial region. The treatment of lesions may involve multiple specialities in order to recover. We specialize not only at treating these diseases but also in the reconstruction of the patient.
Our oral maxillofacial surgeons are trained in all aspects of anesthesia administration. This includes experience in all forms of sedation and general anesthesia: airway magament, endotracheal intubation, establishing and maintaining intravenous lines, and managing complications and emergencies that may arise during administration.
